Jeff Hanson A little about myself: I got my start fishing at an early age with my dad and grandpa. I have been professionally guiding clients for 10 years on Mille Lacs Lake, getting my start in ‘98 under the mentorship of Terry McQuoid. I have spent around 100 days on the open water most of those years, sometimes more. My favorite methods and fish change throughout the season. Early in the year I love nothing more than rigging up on the sand for walleyes. By Memorial day, I want to be rigging out on the mud. Then around mid-June I’ll start pulling some spinners or bobber-fishing deep rocks and gravel on windier days and rigging the mud when it’s calmer. By mid-July, I’m spending more time bobbering on breezy days. By this time of year I’ll also begin Smallmouth bass fishing on the reefs. August is my favorite month for bobber fishing for walleyes and by the end of August I’m spending a lot of time Muskie fishing and then more and more throughout the fall. Profile:
