6/25/08 Fishing is still great, and limits are very frequent.
6/19/08 Fishing has been excellent since our last posted report. Many limits have been caught just over the last 3 to 5 days. The bite continues to be hot on the gravel off the south side of Big Point in 25', as well as 20-25' in the sand off of 3 Mile and Lakeside Reef.
6/6/08 The fish have moved out to 14' - 20' on gravel and deep rock humps. Shallow rocks are producing in the evening. The shallow mudflats are starting to produce also. When fishing the evening or in a West wind cork, plain hook & a leech is best. Otherwise leechs and Lindys are the way to go!
5/28/08 Even with the unstable weather patterns over the last 5 days, the fish are still biting very well on shallow rock piles. Sand/gravel transitions are finally producing fish in the 18" to 22" range. Lots of big fish are being caught with the occasional slot fish for the frying pan. Big Point has been a popular spot for hiding from the winds of the "Big Lake" and has been offering some good fishing as well! Good Luck & Good Fishing!
5/21/08 The fish have moved a little deeper, they're biting best in 6 to 10 ft on rocks, sand or gravel using cork, plain hook & a leech. Big Point is around 51 degrees. The water temp is slow to rise on Big Point, but the bite has picked up over the last couple of days. Our Saturday night Launch Trip caught 35 fish, with 10 keepers including a 29 1/4" Walleye. The fish will be on the move to deeper water as the temps rise. Remember to only keep the walleye under 18" or a single walleye over 28". The weather is looking nice for this weekend, stop in on your way on the lake to get the latest update on the hot fishing spots. See you this weekend! Don't forget the night ban in effect through 12:01 am June 9th!
5/16/08 The fish are biting best in 4 to 6 ft on rocks, using cork, plain hook & a leech. The North end of Mille Lacs is around 40 degrees and the South East side is almost 50 degrees. Opening fishing was a little cool and wet however the catching was good with all having a great time on the lake. Don't forget the night ban in effect through 12:01 am June 9th!
5/1/08
It’s looking to be a GREAT Fishing Opener 2008! Boats are able to get in & out of the Wharf, and we marked the channel to keep boat traffic on a clear path to open water. The Crappie bite has been good on the East Side, and the walleye bite is looking great for “Opener” as is the weather! Hope to see you all soon!
Good Luck Everyone! |
