Tournament Rules

 

Registration: June 5th   Tuesday:        4:30 to 5:30 pm at Fishermen’s Wharf pole shed.
                                                        Rules meeting: 6:00 pm at Fishermen’s Wharf pole shed.

Fishing hours:                Wednesday:  Team #1 thru 175 will depart in numerical order at 7:00 am
                                                       Team #1 thru 100 will return at 4:00 pm
                                                       Team #101 thru 175 will return at 5:00 pm

                                     Thursday:     Team #175 thru 1 will depart in numerical order at 7:00 am
                                                       Team #101 thru 175 will return at 4:00 pm
                                                       Team # 1 thru 100 will return at 5:00 pm

Awards presentation will be held again this year at pole shed.

  1. There will be a random boat check each morning before the start of the tournament.
  2. All boats must depart from Fishermen’s Wharf.
  3. All walleyes entered must be from Mille Lacs Lake and weighed in at Fishermen’s Wharf.
  4. Six fish per day/per team.  Your fish must be from 14” to just under 20” and two (2) fish over 28”.
  5. All fish will be measured with mouth closed/tail pinched.  The “Judge” will be the official ruler.
  6. Any fish altered in an attempt to increase weight, increase or decrease length will result in team disqualification.
  7. Contestant’s boats may not come within 50’ of any other boat.
  8. Minnesota fishing laws will prevail.
  9. No pre-fishing after 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2007.
  10. No fishing before or after tournament hours on tournament days.
  11. No alcoholic beverages may be consumed during tournament hours.
  12. No marine radio or cell phone communication during tournament hours except for emergency.
  13. At no time during tournament hours may a contestant leave his/her boat unless he/she returns to tournament headquarters and permission is obtained from a tournament official.  Use good judgment during unsafe weather conditions.
  14. All boats must be checked in per the above time schedule.  There will be an official’s boat on the lake in front of the entrance to Fishermen’s Wharf.  Check in both days, fish or no fish.  This is mandatory.
  15. If you are 1 to 15 minutes late you will be penalized 50% of your weight for that day.  After 15 minutes your fish will not be weighed.
  16. A protest must be filed with the tournament director before weigh-in is completed.  A $200.00 fee will be required.   Refunded if the protest is found to be valid.  A protest committee will consist of two (2) tournament officials and three (3) randomly picked contestants.  The committee findings will be final.  If a polygraph test is recommended by a committee, monies will be withheld until the results of the polygraph test are known.
  17. The violation of any rule, as determined by the tournament judges in their sole discretion, shall result in automatic disqualification from the tournament and ineligibility for any prizes or awards.
  18. All judges’ decisions are final and binding on contestants and may not be challenged.
  19. Life vests must be worn when your main motor is above trolling speed.
  20. All contestants competing in the Wave Wacker Invitational event are expected to act in a sportsman like manner at all times towards non-competitors and competitors alike.  This shall include the areas of safety, conservation and courtesy.  Violators of this rule will be disqualified.  Any unfavorable conduct or action by a competitor which could negatively reflect on Herrick Ent., Wave Wackers, Fishermen’s Wharf Resort, and tournament sponsors will be grounds for disqualification or rejection of entry of applications.
  21. Promoters, tournament directors and organizations assisting in the tournament operations are not responsible for death, injury, damage, liability, theft, fire or loss of any kind to entrants.  Each entrant upon signing an entry form will in effect be signing a waiver form.

A few notes from our hosts:

We again would like to thank Wave Wackers for allowing us to host this 22nd Annual Event and we look forward to another Great tournament!

PARKING:  Primary parking should be by the Pole shed and along the road from the pole shed towards the Motel.  We will be running shuttles and you can use the walk/ATV bridge by the motel.  Park only on the North side Whistle Road if necessary.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON BOTH SIDES OF WHISTLE ROAD.

NEW CHEF IN TOWN!  We are proud to have Executive Chef Kevin R. Aho take over our kitchen.  Specials for the week… Mon: King Cut Prime Rib Dinner w/Au Jus. Tue: 14oz Ribeye w/Bordelaise Sauce and Mushrooms. Wed: Wild Rice & Crab Stuffed Walleye w/Mornay. Thurs: Garlic Prawn Camerones w/Lemon Beurre Blanc. All Week Breakfast on the go Special…Sausage Pattie, Scrambled egg, & 2 cheeses on a homemade bun - $3.50.  A Full breakfast menu is also available as well. “Lunch box” ready for pick up on Wed and Thurs morning: 6” Club Sub w/ham, beef, turkey, bacon, lettuce, & tomato served with chips, granola bar and fruit for $7.99.  We will have a sign-up sheet during registration to pre-order the lunch boxes.  Stop in for Free Coffee for all Wave Wacker contestants during the week of June 4th.

Lake Access - We offer a pre-fishing pkg. for the Wave Wacker contestants, $20.00 for a 5 day launch pass at Fishermen’s Wharf.  This pass will be good from Friday, June 1st – Thursday, June 7th.  Please mention your team number to obtain a pass.

Campsites are available for the tournament at a rate of $20 per night or $140 per week.  Reserve one of our Motel rooms early.  We have 4 rooms (2 W/1 King Bed & 2 W/2 Dbl beds) available for $60/$65 per night or $400/$430 per week.  Our Ice Cabins will also be available this year at $40 per night +$8.00 per person.  These units have Air Conditioning, DVD players and limited restroom facilities in them with full bathroom and shower facilities close by.

Food and Drinks will be available outside the Wharf Wednesday and Thursday afternoon with drinks being served at the Pole Shed during all scheduled events.   Food specials for the week are listed above.
